ADAS

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology is one of the the fastest-growing areas in modern automotive safety system development.

Active safety systems play a major role in reducing traffic fatalities and the financial fallout from vehicular accidents. ADAS systems include long- and medium-range radar and vision systems. Developing an ADAS system requires sophisticated yet cost-effective radio frequency technology which can be embedded in the vehicle to detect and classify exterior objects. A state-of-the-art radar system can differentiate between a vehicle and a pedestrian, identify the location of any potential hazard, and compute the vehicle’s corrective path.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) aim to reduce road accidents and their associated casualties by helping drivers avoid collisions. ADAS systems may react faster than the vehicle’s driver, are constantly vigilant, and have already been adopted and deployed in various models ranging from premium to economy.

ADAS systems constantly monitor the vehicle’s surroundings, alert the driver to hazardous road conditions, and take corrective action such as slowing the vehicle, stopping it or steering it away from danger. ADAS systems use inputs from multiple sensors, including cameras and radars. The fusion of these inputs is processed and the information is sent to the driver and other parts of the system. The same sensor technologies can be used both in the current ADAS systems and in the upcoming fully autonomous driving systems (level 4 and 5).

The technician needs a manual that describes the preparatory steps before he/she can start the actual calibration using the diagnostics tool. The manual is based on the Vehicle Manufacturers’ (OEM) recommendations, but limits itself to the mechanical operations. The technician still needs to use a diagnostic tool.

We have identified the following Repair manuals; their availability will be based on the equipment fitted to the models.

  • (ADAS) 360° system camera: calibration
  • (ADAS) 360° system front camera: calibration
  • (ADAS) 360° system rear camera: calibration
  • (ADAS) 360° system side camera: calibration
  • (ADAS) Blind spot monitoring system: calibration
  • (ADAS) Forward-sensing camera: calibration
  • (ADAS) Front-corner radar: calibration
  • (ADAS) Lane-keep assist: calibration
  • (ADAS) Night vision camera: calibration
  • (ADAS) Radar unit aiming: calibration
  • (ADAS) Rear-view camera: calibration

For the 2020Q1 release we have 44 manuals covering 93 Mazda types. In the next quarter we are focusing on Volkswagen and will then extend our coverage to other VAG makes.
